Launch of Diablo IV’s Seventh Season

It’s been less than a couple of weeks since the launch of Diablo IV’s seventh season, and players have already discovered a bug in the new Witchcraft system that allows them to deal monstrous damage and break speed records for completing the most difficult content.

The Bug in Witchcraft System

According to streamers including Mekuna, the issue is related to the new ability Decay Augmentation. When combined with the standard Spiritborn Fireball and Greater Fireball build, this ability is supposed to add 10% of the damage from the burning effect. However, the results are far higher than expected, with players dealing trillions of damage and clearing the level 150 Pit in a matter of minutes.

Unofficial Leaderboard Standings

Player KerkyBoi has already topped the unofficial leaderboard with an impressive completion time of 2 minutes 48 seconds, followed by Mekuna with a result of 6 minutes 27 seconds.

Players’ Reactions

“It’s just magic, everything just explodes on its own,” says Mekuna, effortlessly flying through content that would normally require a highly optimized build and serious skill.

Blizzard’s Response

A Blizzard spokesperson confirmed that the team is aware of the issue and is working on a fix, calling it a “high priority.”

Changing Approach to Fixing Bugs

Interestingly, the studio’s approach to fixing bugs in Diablo IV has changed over time, from an immediate fix to a planned patch for the next season.
