Death Stranding 2: On The Beach has unexpectedly received an age rating in Korea, although this does not mean that the release will take place in the next couple of months – but it may mean that pre-orders will open.
Age Rating and Themes
As noted by ResetEra user XenoSaga, the game was rated by the Korean Rating and Administration Committee on February 6. The themes mentioned include excessive violence, strong language, smoking, and drinking.

Development Progress
The introduction of an age rating came as a surprise to many, given Kojima’s statement that the game was only 40-50% complete, suggesting a release date of late 2025, if not later. Usually, age ratings are assigned to games when their content is already fully developed and they are close to release. However, there are exceptions.
Implications for Release
Even if the ranking doesn’t give an exact indication of the release date, it does at least indicate that development is moving forward. Considering that Kojima was recently spotted editing a trailer for Death Stranding 2, it’s likely that we’ll see the game at the upcoming State of Play1.
Additional Insights
The game’s age rating in Korea suggests that it might be further along in development than previously thought. This could mean that Death Stranding 2: On The Beach might be released sooner than expected. Fans are eagerly awaiting more updates and possibly a release date announcement at the upcoming State of Play event
