In an interview with PC Gamer, director Junya Ishizaki revealed that Elden Ring Nightreign will feature massive landscape changes, including procedurally generated volcanoes, swamps, and forests. These dynamic environments will ensure that each playthrough is unique and challenging.

“We wanted the map itself to be a giant dungeon where players could explore new paths each time they played through,” Ishizaki stated. At the end of the third day, players will face a crucial decision: choosing which boss to fight.

Strategy and Exploration

After choosing a boss, players might develop a strategy for the upcoming battle, which will significantly affect how they explore the map. “We wanted to give players the freedom to decide,” Ishizaki explained. “This time, I need to get a poison weapon for this boss.”

Roguelike and Co-op Elements

Elden Ring Nightreign introduces roguelike and co-op elements to offer a variety of gameplay experiences. However, it remains true to FromSoftware’s tradition by retaining the infamous poison swamps.
