Hazelight Studio Unveils New Teaser for Split Fiction, A Thrilling Co-op Adventure

Hazelight Studio and Electronic Arts have officially released a brand-new teaser for their upcoming cooperative adventure, Split Fiction. Developed by the creators of It Takes Two, the game promises a unique and exhilarating two-player experience.

Play Together with Just One Copy

One of the standout features of Split Fiction is its innovative Friend’s Pass, a hallmark of Hazelight Studio’s cooperative games. This feature allows players to enjoy the adventure with a friend, even if only one person owns the full version. The second player can simply download the trial version on their respective platform and join in the fun. Additionally, the game supports crossplay, enabling seamless cooperative gameplay between different platforms.

This system not only makes the game more accessible but also enhances the social gaming experience, ensuring that players can enjoy the journey without the need for both to purchase a copy.

Free Access to Early Game Stages

In addition to the Friend’s Pass, Hazelight is offering a free trial that allows both players to experience the initial stages of the game at no cost. This allows potential players to get a feel for the mechanics and story before committing to the full purchase.

A Wild and Unpredictable Adventure

Gameplay Overview

Split Fiction is a fast-paced and unpredictable adventure that constantly throws players into new and exciting challenges. One moment, you’re taming a cute dragon, and the next, you’re locked in combat with cyber ninjas. The game features a diverse range of environments and situations, including:

  • Escaping terrifying trolls
  • Dodging hovercars launched by a rogue robot valet
  • Solving intricate puzzles that require teamwork

The game’s dynamic nature ensures that no two moments feel the same, keeping players engaged and on their toes throughout the journey.

Visuals and Storytelling

Hazelight Studios is known for its engaging storytelling and cinematic presentation, and Split Fiction seems to follow suit. The teaser hints at a vibrant world with unique character designs and an art style that blends fantasy, sci-fi, and whimsical elements. The game’s narrative is expected to be emotionally compelling, with a balance of humor and heartfelt moments, similar to It Takes Two.

I played It Takes Two with my friend just recently and I was amazed by the game. The story, the art, the mechanics, the puzzles… all was extremely in detail and would bring you into the story. I played other split screen co-ops but nothing could compare.
I needed a few minutes to take in all the game when it ended.

EA makes some great games, and this looks like another game that will become popular. I so loved all of the Mass Effect series. Now, I am counting the months / years until ME5 comes out.
