In a surprising turn of events, Ludwig “Brollan” Brolin has taken on the role of captain for MOUZ after Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek was benched following just one match in 2025. Lotan “Spinx” Giladi was brought in as a replacement, and Brollan stepped up to the in-game leader (IGL) position.
Brollan’s Impressions as IGL
After MOUZ advanced to the PGL Cluj-Napoca playoffs, Brollan shared his thoughts on his debut as an IGL.
“It was a lot of fun, although frustrating at times. We couldn’t beat Falcons and FaZe, but it was a useful experience. For example, when we played against FaZe, they made a comeback, and then you feel the pressure when you have to make important calls. Overall, I’m enjoying the process.”
The Challenges of the IGL Role
According to Brollan, the IGL role demands more time and effort:
“It’s the middle of the season now, and I have to work even harder. It’s exhausting, but I love it.”
Brollan revealed that he had always considered trying his hand at the IGL role, especially within Swedish teams.
“I always wanted to be a captain in the future, maybe when I return to the Swedish teams. But it happened sooner than I expected. The coach and staff trusted me with the role, and the players also supported me. I’m trying to improve my leadership skills and gain more trust from the team.”
Brollan’s Future as IGL
Despite his current role, Brollan is not rushing to decide whether the IGL position will be permanent for him:
“Right now I just want to improve and not plan ahead. I’ve changed a few roles – first I was an aggressor, then a lurker in MOUZ, and now I’m a captain. We’ll see what happens next.”
Balancing Personal Performance and Team Management
Brollan admitted that the most challenging aspect of being an IGL is balancing his personal game with managing the team.
“Sometimes it’s hard to maintain personal form because you’re more focused on the team. But it’s good that my teammates play at a high level, so I don’t have to ‘pull’ them on myself. It’s also hard to quickly convey all the necessary information – you have to do it literally in a few words.”
Support from Coaching Staff
He also highlighted the support he receives from trainer Dennis “sycrone” Nielsen and the mental coach:
“sycrone gives me useful advice that is easy to implement. It helps me develop as a leader.”
MOUZ’s Playoff Performance and Future Goals
While the MOUZ team has made it to the playoffs, Brollan emphasized that there are no clear goals for the tournament yet:
“We just want to play our best. For now, we are testing a new style of play and want to close matches more confidently. Anything after reaching the playoffs is just a bonus.”
